It is my great pleasure to announce the promotion of Jared Mason, my son, to the position of President of McKenna. Jared will immediately take over leadership of all the day-to-day operations of the company, and I will remain on board as CEO until the end of 2021. This is the final piece of a plan we put in place about five years ago when he joined the company as the production manager. I could not be more proud of how well he has made the transition into this company and of the leader he has become. He leads with dedication and heart, always keeping in mind the needs of our clients, our employees, and our community. His quickly acquired knowledge and natural gift for continuous improvement will allow him to continue to make McKenna stronger, enhancing our partnerships with our clients to help them succeed in their businesses. Amazing times are ahead!
Ownership will change at the end of the year, I will maintain a daily presence and act as an advisor to assist in the transition until then. While I have dedicated 45 years of my life to the photographic industry, my wife Christi and I are very excited to embark on a new chapter of active retirement in 2022. This industry has provided a meaningful career plus customers and employees who are great friends – great friends who are like family. I am forever grateful.
As I transition into this new role, I would like to share a brief message to our customers. This is the beginning of an end to the plan that Dave and I started discussing over five years ago over a glass of whiskey. I have been managing production at the lab for a handful of years now and am continuing to learn more and more about this industry. I have had the benefit of learning from Dave, who has been in this industry for decades. These are big shoes to fill and I do not take any of this lightly. My family and I are all-in on this new endeavor and I look forward to the upcoming years. Our loyal customers are the backbone of this business. I am excited to once again be able to meet with many of you in the upcoming months and years. Trust that McKenna is and will always be the amazing lab that you have known for the last 52 years. I thank you all for your business and support. I also want to wish both of my parents (Dave and Christi Mason) a happy and healthy upcoming retirement. You two have fun – you deserve it.
